It is estimated that non-healing wounds affect approximately seven to eight million people in the U.S. while an estimated nine million people have peripheral arterial disease (PAD).1 Peripheral arterial disease is often an unrecognized cause of the aforementioned wounds, symptoms of pain, functional disability, foot ulcers, infections and amputations. Nationwide, more than 30 percent of patients do not receive vascular testing prior to amputation.
